No skirts and tight clothes in the valley: Jamaat-e-Islami

Terror group of Jammu & Kashmir ‘Jamaat-e-Islami’ (JeI) has issued an order on the dress code for the tourists visiting the valley every year. JeI has advised the visitors, especially foreigners, to dress properly and respect local ethos. The JeI has also warned them of harsh reactions if they failed to do so.

In their order, they said no to wear short or tight clothes. It has also asked the state Tourism department to enforce the rule.

Meanwhile, the Omar Abdullah government is silent on the matter.

JeI has clarified that the sudden order is not forcing the tourists to wear Islamic dresses. It is quite against the local ethics and culture. They further added that JeI wants them to follow the local traditions.

Meanwhile, Kashmir is in the middle of a roaring tourism season and set to break all-time records and the people associated with the trade who have very high stakes said that they just don't want a needless controversy that has the potential to impact the trade in a very sensitive place.

  1. they are just trying to put some bad impression of our county on visitors. govt. can't ignore them and need to put some hard action among them. otherwise they will ask for burkaas within no time.
