A sweeper in has been found giving stitches to the patients at Babu Banarsi Das District hospital of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. The shocking revelation came after the sweeper was video graphed while giving a young child stitches on his leg.
On the other hand, a ward boy was also seen administering tetanus shots to another patient.
It is reported that the hospital has 23 trained doctors on its rolls.
The hospital authorities have denied the reports and clarified that they were Operation Theater (OT) attendants and were pitching in as there were too many patients at the hospital following an accident.
Chief Medical Officer SHS Danu had said that sometimes there is situation when there is nobody to attend to the patients, so they sometimes help with the distribution of medicines.
He added that the ward boy seen in the video is trained and has been assisting in OT for over 10 years.
Meanwhile, the state Additional Health Director (AHD) has conducted surprise searches at the hospital after the expose today.
