Delhi Police denies Team Anna permission for July 25 agitation

The Delhi Police have refused to grant permission to Team Anna’s India Against Corruption (IAC) for their indefinite agitation against corruption at the historic Jantar Mantar on July 25, today.

However, Team Anna is adamant that it will go ahead with their proposed agitation.

Earlier, the Delhi Police have asked Team Anna to shorten the duration of its proposed anti-corruption fast at Jantar Mantar since it had sought permission to sit on fast for 15 days from July 25 to August 8 next.


Delhi Police had reportedly told Team Anna that it cannot give permission for more than a day if they want to protest at Jantar Mantar and had to vacate the venue by 6 pm.


Further, they said that if Anna’s team wanted to sit on an indefinite fast, they must select some other venue.

Meanwhile social activist Anna Hazare is not likely to sit on fast due to his health condition.
