DU admissions: Non-creamy layer certificate - a must for OBC students

Much awaited race begins, as University of Delhi start its admission procedure from today. Every year undergraduate admissions to DU colleges come under the scanner, with cut-offs touching even 100 per cent last year.

University will give a 10 per cent relaxation from the eligibility criteria in the qualifying examination for Other Backward Classed (OBC) students. As per the National Commission for backward classes guidelines, OBC students will have to produce non creamy layer certificate to get the benefit of the prescribed reservation.

 University brings back centralised OMR forms and the only difference is that this year the forms can be filled up on online as well.

“This year Delhi University has allowed only one centralised form . No colleges will be able to give pre - admission forms other than two colleges,” Said Dinesh C Varshney,  Deputy Dean students welfare, Delhi university.  

For those who wants to go admission procedure by hard copies can get forms at 12 head post offices in the city, besides the 10 University centers.

“This year we are distributing forms and receiving forms from post offices also and from 10 University centres, students can take form from anywhere and submit it anywhere.” Dinesh Varshney said.
Varshney also indicated that course fees may increased in few colleges as price of form was also increased.
 
This year university has started an integrated B-tech Programme.
