“I am sitting on a hunger fast at the Ferozeshah Kotla from May 20th. Some other cricketers from International cricket and civil society members (Anna Hajare, Ramdev) will also join me,” said Azad.
Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy, has also demanded a ban on IPL, alleging that the “civilised game” of cricket has been degenerated into a “vulgar” display of money and immorality leading to national security threat.
“I demand that the government ban the IPL tournament forthwith since game’s collateral consequences are a degeneration of a civilised game of cricket into a vulgar display of money, immorality, all converting into a serious national security threat,” said Swamy.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav also takes a strong note on alleged controversy demanded that the tournament should be closed down.
“IPL should be closed,” said Lalu to reporters outside Parliament House when asked to react on the spat between Shah Rukh Khan and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials and other controversies surrounding the game.
According to the report, May 16, 2012, that Bollywood superstar and owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, Shahrukh Khan lost his cool after his teams win against the Mumbai Indians. He was abused the officials after he was denied entry in the playing area of the Wankhede Stadium.
