KFA pilots go on strike against delay in salaries

A section of pilots of Kingfisher Airlines (KFA) went on strike as a mark of protest against the non-payment of salaries for the past five months, forcing the airline to cancel its Aircraft Type Rating (ATR) operated flights today.

Nearly bankrupt KFA have more than 200 pilots, including captains, who are on strike as the airline has once again failed to pay salaries to its staffs.

The employees had a meeting with the KFA chairman Vijay Mallya on this issue, but after he failed to commit anything on the salary payment, and to which, the pilots have decided to stop working.

Meanwhile, a meeting of all employees, including pilots, engineers and cabin crews, will be held tomorrow to chalk out further course of action.

On earlier occasion, some of its pilots and engineers had gone on strike, but had returned to work after the management had assured them of remitting the salaries.
